EMPLOYERS: WANT TO BE A CO-OP & CAREER PARTNER?

Both students and companies benefit from ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ's Co-op and Placement Program. Students receive an incredible, paid, real-world engineering experience, and companies fill in-demand positions with skilled, student engineers who work hard and are eager to learn.

ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s College of Engineering and Polymer Science produces some of the most sought-after, job-ready graduates in the country. It is home to the 5th oldest co-op program in the country, whose legacy is rooted in our belief that the best way to prepare our students for their careers is to learn by doing.

WHAT IS CO-OP?

The Co-op and Placement Program provides paid industry experience to undergraduate students. Their schedule will alternate semesters in the classroom with semesters spent working full-time. Typically, students will complete between three and five co-op rotations (fall semester, spring semester, or summer).

Benefits of co-ops in the workplace

  • A motivated workforce eager to learn from professionals
  • Pipeline of talent for future hiring needs
  • Opportunity to train potential employees
  • Reduction of costs in recruitment and training
  • ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ staff screen students and match with companies who seem like a great fit, saving you costs in recruitment

Benefits to students

  • Students get a feel for working in the industry
  • Opportunity to narrow down the type of job they are most interested in
  • Improve their technical and real-world skills like communication, leadership, and presentation skills
  • Possibility for full-time employment when they graduate

What does a co-op schedule look like?

  • 35+ hours per week
  • 16+ weeks per semester
  • On site or remote depending on your needs
