Biography
Brian Radesic earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University in 1987, a Master of Science in Nursing from ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ in 1995, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western University in 2011, where he received the DNP Dean’s Legacy Award. He has worked at several prestigious institutions, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, University Hospitals of Cleveland, Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Robinson Memorial Hospital, Elyria Regional Healthcare System, and MetroHealth System, a Level One Trauma Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
At MetroHealth, Dr. Radesic oversaw nurse anesthesia students and was the clinical coordinator for the Nurse Anesthesia Program at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ. One of his notable achievements was developing one of Cleveland’s first electronic record-keeping systems. He enjoyed educating various healthcare professionals at MetroHealth, including medical students, nursing students, flight nurses, operating room and PACU nurses, anesthesia residents, oral surgery residents, respiratory therapists, and paramedic students.
With 29 years of experience as a practicing CRNA, Dr. Radesic is currently the Program Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, the largest nurse anesthetist program in Ohio, with over 50 clinical sites throughout the state. He continues practicing anesthesia at UH Parma Medical Center, where he educates anesthesia students in the clinical setting.
He has published in the AANA Journal, including the article “Ease of Intubation With the Parker Flex-Tip® or a Standard Mallinckrodt® ETT when Using a Video Laryngoscope (GlideScope®).” Dr. Radesic has presented on anesthesia medications at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) annual conferences in Seattle and Las Vegas and taught at the difficult airway workshop in Cleveland. He developed the first difficult airway workshop for graduate anesthesia students at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ. His publications cover topics such as using the WuScope in cervical neck injuries and heating modalities in patients under general anesthesia. He co-authored a chapter on Trauma Anesthesia in the 2009 edition of Nurse Anesthesia with Charles Barton, MSN, M.Ed., CRNA.
Dr. Radesic has lectured in several states on various anesthesia topics. In 2011, he received the AANA’s Annual Clinical Instructor of the Year Award in Boston and was awarded the Ohio State Association of Nurse Anesthetists (OSANA) Educator of the Year in 2019. He is an active member of both the AANA and OSANA.
