Seniors say 鈥淚 do鈥 to engineering at ceremonial ring ceremony

04/24/2019

On April 18, 82 engineering seniors participated in the Engineer’s Ring Ceremony, a time-honored tradition for individuals entering the field of engineering. By accepting the ring and participating in the ceremony, engineers pledge to uphold the standards and dignity of the engineering profession.

The ring ceremony was initiated by The Order of the Engineer, an association for graduate and professional engineers. It emphasizes a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, bridges the gap between training and experience, and presents to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer.
