winter 2020 new faculty-FINAL

Fardin Khabaz, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, Department of Polymer Engineering, Department of Chemical, Biomolecular, and Corrosion Engineering

Dr. Fardin Khabaz earned his Ph.D. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas Tech University (2016) and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2011). Before joining ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, Dr. Khabaz used particle simulations and finite element methods to understand the rheological and mechanical properties of different materials. He held a postdoctoral appointment at the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and was a Visiting Scientist at École supérieure de physique et de chimie industrielles (ESPCI) de la Ville de Paris, where he performed experiments to investigate rheology (the study of the flow of matter) of soft glasses. His work focuses on using molecular dynamics simulations and fluid mechanics to understand the behavior of macromolecules for use in designing advanced materials with superior mechanical and structural properties.

Mark White
Senior Engineering Technician

Mark earned his Associates Degree in Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from Stark State College of Technology in 2006. His previous work experience includes Maintenance Manager at Sherwin-Williams and Electrical Analyst for The Timken Company, the latter where he supported the testing group with automation upgrades of testing equipment and equipment calibration. Mark is an expert in the field of electrical engineering technology and has a strong aptitude in controls engineering. At ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, he will provide technical services to support the Mechanical Engineering Department's teaching and research efforts including setup, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of measurements systems, test equipment, and test machines.
