Art as Therapy? Opening Reception

Celebrate the launch of our newest exhibit, Art as Therapy? at this free opening reception! This new exhibit explores the history, training, and practice of art therapy, with a special focus on Northeast Ohio. Through therapist- and client-created artworks, visitors will consider the question that has divided the field since its origins: is artistry a tool for psychotherapy, or a healing act in and of itself?
We鈥檒l be joined by Guest Curators Heidi Larew (LPCC-S, LICDC-CS, ATCS) and Madeline VanHorn (LPC, ATR-P), who will share remarks on the development of the exhibit and their own experiences as mental health care providers. Remarks begin at 6:00pm
Light refreshments will be offered throughout the event. All visitors will receive free admission to the exhibit, as well as the National Museum of Psychology and Institute galleries.
