Biography
Dr. Choi joined ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ in the Mechanical Engineering department in 2011. Prior to joining ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, he spent one year for his Post Doctoral research in the W.M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), sponsored by the Overseas Post Doctoral Fellowship from the Korea Research Foundations. Dr. Choi specializes in additive manufacturing research and has developed various processes such as Conformal 3D Printing, Liquid-Bridge Microstereolithography, and Direct-Print Photopolymerization, together with various 3D printable materials. Dr. Choi is the co-founder and CTO of eSens and he is the director of the Advanced Additive Manufacturing Lab (AAML) at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ. He is also serving as a ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ site director of Center for Tire Research (CenTiRe). Dr. Choi is the recipient of ~$3M research grants (NSF, Ohio State, Tire Center, etc.). He is an associate editor in Additive Manufacturing, and editorial member of the International Journal of Precision Engineering and Manufacturing (IJPEM) and IJPEM-Green Technology. He has more than 57 peer-reviewed journal articles, two book chapters, and four registered patents.
