Avery Dennison Annual Scholarship

The Avery Dennison Scholarship was created in 2001. The annual scholarship award is intended to recognize the outstanding academic achievement of a student in the College of Engineering at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ who is specializing in engineering and planning a career in research. The scholarship will be awarded at the College’s Honor’s and Award Banquet, or its successor, held each spring,.

Avery Dennison develops, manufacturers, and markets a wide range of products for consumer and industrial markets. The company exceeds $3.5 billion in annual sales and is considered the global leader in pressure-sensitive technology and innovative self-adhesive solutions for consumer products and label materials. While Avery Dennison’s corporate headquarters are in Pasadena, California, the company has a significant business base in Northeast Ohio.

The scholarship recipient must be a full-time undergraduate student studying engineering at ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ. The scholarship recipient must be a rising senior with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The recipient should evidence the following characteristics, which fall within Avery Dennison’s corporate character: integrity, teamwork, service, innovation, excellence, and community. If the recipient has an interest in working for a manufacturing company, it would be a plus. Avery Dennison employees and their children are not eligible for the scholarship.

The College’s Scholarship Committee in conjunction with ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Office of Financial Aid will select the scholarship recipient. The Dean of the College of Engineering will be the ultimate arbiter of any decision concerning the scholarship selection process.

The Avery Dennison Scholarship is a $1,500 award given annually to one student who meets the previously listed criteria. The College will determine the manner and timing of the disbursement to the scholarship recipient, which shall be presented by Avery Dennison whenever possible.

The scholarship will be awarded as part of the College’s annual Honors and Award Banquet (or its successor). The donor or the donor’s designee will be invited to the ceremony to meet the scholarship recipient.
