O'Neil, Mary Kerrigan and Walter P. O'Neil Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established by family and friends in memory of Mary Kerrigan O'Neil (Mrs. Walter P.), long-time Akron public relations and Girl Scout executive who served the University for ten years as director, in turn, of University News Service and Internal Communications (1971- 81), who died in 1981, and in memory of her husband, Walter P. O'Neil, Akron businessman and auto enthusiast who died in 1983, this endowed scholarship provides tuition assistance for undergraduates who are mass media communications majors. Recipients are selected by the University Scholarship Committee without regard to race, sex, creed, or national origin. Memorial contributions are welcomed.
