Collins, Bonnie College of Business Fund
The Bonnie Collins College of Business Fund was established in June 2024 upon receiving a generous gift from the estate of Bonnie Collins.
Mrs. Bonnie L. (Mullens) Collins (12/06/1930 - 01/02/2024) was an Akron native, graduating from South High School (1949) and ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ, receiving her associate degree in secretarial science (1964) and bachelor's degree in science in business education (1971). Bonnie worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. from 1950 until her retirement in 1981. During her time there, she held many positions, including Statistical Analyst, Human Resources Specialist and Employee Communications Specialist, and she traveled extensively in the U.S. for work. In 1968, Bonnie represented Firestone in the National Alliance of Business, an organization dedicated to providing economic opportunities to the disadvantaged. In 1977, Bonnie received the Firestone Award of Excellence from Consumer Affairs for her dedication to the company and her outstanding customer service.
After her retirement from Firestone, Bonnie was a substitute teacher for Akron Public Schools.
On March 1, 1958, Bonnie married her husband, Eunice E. Collins (11/16/1933 - 07/07/2013). Eunice attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from Garfield High School in 1952. During his career, Eunice worked for the Akron Beacon Journal from 1952 until his retirement in 1990.
Throughout their lives, ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ was very dear to Mrs. Collins and her husband.
The Bonnie Collins College of Business Fund was established as part of We Rise Together, the Campaign for ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ.
The Bonnie Collins College of Business Fund is dedicated to supporting the needs and priorities of the College of Business. Funds shall be used at the discretion of the Dean of the College of Business or his/her designee.
