Tax Executives Institute Inc., Cleveland Chapter Graduate Assistant Award
Tax Executives Institute Inc. (TEI) is a professional organization of business executives who are responsible for taxation matters on an administrative or policy-making level, or whose work is otherwise primarily concerned with the problems of business taxation. TEI was founded in June of 1944 by a group of 15 prominent corporate tax executives in New York City. Since then, TEI has grown steadily and today has more then 5,000 members in 53 separate chapters.
The Cleveland chapter of TEI has approximately 120 members in the greater Northeast Ohio area and holds monthly meetings from September through May of each year. The Cleveland chapter will award $3,000 for the 2006-2007 academic year for graduate assistantships in the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy. The funds are to be awarded $1,500 per semester. At the end of the 2006-07 academic year, this assistantship will be awarded as funds are available. The recipient of The Tax Executives Institute Inc., Cleveland Chapter Graduate Assistant Award must be a student of the MTAX program within the George W. Daverio School of Accountancy, and the chair of the school will choose the recipient(s).
