Park National Bank Scholarship
The Park National Bank Scholarship, established in December 2018 by First-Knox National Bank, focuses on helping Holmes County students access higher education opportunities close to home. Park National Bank is a generous benefactor in the community, and this scholarship is part of their commitment to aid local college students and support the mission of Wayne College's 50-year history. Originally named The First-Knox National Bank Scholarship, this scholarship was revised in August 2022 to reflect the bank's name change as part of Park National Bank's rebranding of its family of community banks.
Students eligible for consideration must demonstrate financial need and must be enrolled with at least six credit hours per semester at Wayne College. Students also must be graduates of either West Holmes High School in Millersburg, Ohio, or Hiland High School in Berlin, Ohio, with first consideration given to incoming freshmen.
Recipients will be determined by a designated Wayne College representative or committee. The annual gift from the Park National Bank will be distributed between two recipients, preferably one from each of the two high schools noted above. If both high schools cannot be represented, then the two recipients may be from the same high school. Park National Bank desires that one of their representatives present the scholarship at the West Holmes and Hiland high schools' respective senior awards assemblies.
If an eligible graduate from either high school is not identified, then the scholarship will not be awarded, per the donor's request.
