United Way Women’s Board Scholarship Fund
The United Way Women’s Board Scholarship Fund was established in 1991 by the United Way Women’s Board. The scholarship fund provides two scholarships to talented University of Akron students majoring in sociology, social work, psychology, education, communicative disorders, community services technology, educational technology, or handicapped services. The recipients may be male or female students with demonstrated financial need and a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above. Preference shall be given to nontraditional students and to students working in a social service area for a minimum of 20 hours per week. The scholarship recipients shall be selected by the United Way Women’s Board in cooperation with ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ Office of Student Financial Aid.
