Biography
Melissa Stallard received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from East Tennessee State University in 2003 and Master of Fine Arts in photography from Columbia College Chicago in 2008. She began teaching at the Myers School of Art in 2009 and is currently the photography area coordinator.
Melissa’s ongoing work examines the cultural landscape throughout the Southeastern and Midwestern parts of the United States. Her work has been exhibited nationally including solo exhibitions at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois, Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, and Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio and as part of the Compé 13: International Photography Exhibition at Project Basho in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Most recently, her work has been featured in The Oxford American’s Eyes on The South, The Photo Review’s Competition Issue, and as part of FotoFilmic ’14s International Traveling Photography Exhibition.
