Biography

David Flynn is a distinguished graphic designer and educator, born in Dover, Ohio. He obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from ÐãÉ«¶ÌÊÓƵ in 1982. His career began as an intern at a local design studio in 1980, leading to positions in advertising agencies until 1994 when he established David Flynn Design. This design studio specializes in serving local and regional clients, creating advertising, branding, packaging and publication design.
 
In addition to his professional endeavors, David Flynn joined the faculty in 2009. He teaches a wide range of classes, from Freshman to Senior levels in Graphic Design and Foundation Studio within the Myers School of Art in the Buchtel College of Arts and Sciences. His contributions also extend to teaching a Creative Thinking Colloquium in the Williams Honors College.
 
Flynn's creative work is deeply influenced by global advertising and design. He excels in merging insightful writing with compelling visuals, crafting powerful and straightforward communication across various media platforms.
 
One of Flynn's notable achievements is the establishment of "Creative Campfires" in 2019, a lecture series dedicated to nurturing and unleashing creative thinking. These lectures target art classes in high schools and colleges, creative and marketing departments in diverse industries, as well as any educational or business sector that values expansive and innovative thinking. Through this initiative, he aims to inspire and guide individuals towards unlocking their creative potential.
